Our heritage is our community - Stories from our fans

Deniz – like granddad, like father, like son

Deniz has been a fan for 25 years. He got his first knife from his dad and now has a one-year-old son himself – Nuri, for whom he bought a pocket knife. And another for himself. Both have Nuri's year of birth engraved on the back. Deniz’s son will get his when the time is right. This is tradition. Having a Swiss Army Knife that is passed from generation to generation. So that when Nuri goes on his own life’s journey, he can do what his dad and his granddad do: use his Victorinox pocket knife to fix things, to put things together. He’ll go outside and slowly discover new things, from his backyard and out in the world. His Swiss Army Knife will be there with him all the way. And one day, he may have his own son. And pass the attitude that goes with the “little red baton” to him.

Robert – introducing an attitude in Mozambique

The young scouts in Matola, Mozambique focus on nature, environmental issues and climate change. When Robert visited the children, he brought along his Swiss Army Knife. The scouts were curious and fascinated by this versatile tool, so he organized them each one. And taught them not only how they work, how to oil and sharpen them, but that they should never harm a living being with them. So as they were taught new skills, they also learned that having a pocket knife comes with responsibility. And Robert saw that the extra effort he made by sharing his passion for Victorinox had made an impact. For him, his Swiss Army Knife is more than just a tool, it builds bridges, it creates companionship.
