On 12 June 1897, Victorinox founder Karl Elsener patented his Officer’s Knife and Sports Knife. His pocket knife can now be found exhibited in museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The Swiss Army Knive has become an icon and is regarded as the embodiment of multifunctionality, inventiveness and Swiss precision. The top-of-the-range model of pocket knife, the Swiss Champ, for example, combines 33 functions in one award-winning design.
