How do I figure out how much luggage I need? Here are some things to think about:

  • Calculate your time
How long will your trip be? Will you be able to do laundry or do you need to bring clothes for every day you’re away?

  • Consider your activities
What will you do on your trip? If it’s a family leisure trip, think about activities that need extra items. If you’re on a city tour, you might want to add special accessories to your basics for going out in the evening.

  • Plan for the weather
What’s the climate like at your destination? Consider warm clothing, umbrellas, hats, boots. Or swimsuits, beach wear, prescription goggles, flip-flops.

  • Do a head count
How many people will you be? Are you sharing suitcases or does everyone get their own? You might want to bring one bottle of shampoo for the group or combine chargers, cables, etc. for all the gadgets in your party.
